Bengaluru: Karnataka High Court Social media platform today To ‘x’ (Earlier Twitter) has given a big hit. The X had filed a petition challenging the government’s instructions, accusing the Central government of trying to block the content through the IT Act, which the court rejected. The decision was given to Justice Nag Prasanna’s Ekla Peetha.
‘America’s laws will not run in India’
During the hearing of the matter, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta favored the government. At the hearing, the High Court clearly stated, “Information and communication can never remain uncontrollable or regulated. As the technology has developed, everything has been regulated.” The court further said, “The right of freedom of expression is built under Article 29 (2).
‘The rules in India have to be followed’.
The High Court said that social media could not be left in a state of chaos. Every sovereign nation controls social media. No social media platform can only look at the Indian market as a ‘playground’.

The court said, “We need to regulate the content on social media. We are a society that runs by laws. Order is a structure of democracy. The petitioner’s platform (X) is subject to the regulatory system in the United States and obeyed the laws there.
