Although there has been no confirmation from Mark’s side, rumours are quite strong that he might have an appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. A new rumour is doing the rounds on the internet, and if at all true, might shake the fans of the Marvel franchise.

According to FandomWire, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day may reveal that the Hulk inadvertently caused the deaths of Peter Parker’s parents during the battle of New York of 2012. This could connect Bruce Banner and Peter Parker’s characters in quite an intriguing manner

The film is all set to release on July 31, 2026. Its production has recently resumed in Atlanta and New York after a short pause caused by Tom Holland’s injury.

As soon as the rumours spread, the internet went crazy and rightfully so. A viral post on X read, “Hulk is rumoured to be responsible for the deaths of Peter Parker’s parents. This would have taken place during the events of the first ‘AVENGERS’ film.” The post has over 14k likes.

In another post, the X user who posted about the rumour wrote, “In the Ultimate Comics Hulk killed Peter’s parents…could the MCU be adapting this?”

One user replied to the post and wrote, “MCU lore starting to feel like fanfic with a budget.” Another wrote, “First Kate’s dad now Peter’s parents, who DID they save in 2012 ? (Battle of New York)

“I think that would be an odd arc to put Peter through right after we got him nearly killing Norman for what he did to Aunt May,” commented another X user.

Nobody’s taking this rumour well, and neither are we. What do you think?
