Bihar Police SI Recruitment 2025: How many vacancies are there?
This recruitment is for the post of Police Sub-Inspector (SI) under the Home Department (Police Branch) of the Bihar Government. The total number of vacancies is 1,799, which will be filled to maintain law and order across the state. If you are a graduate and have a suitable fitness level, this is a golden opportunity for you. The selection process will be conducted in three stages: the preliminary exam, the main exam, and then the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST). Twenty times the number of candidates who clear the prelims will be called for the main exam. So, you'll need to focus on everything from the written exam to the running test.

Bihar Police SI Bharti Eligibility: What are the qualifications required?
For the Sub Inspector recruitment in Bihar, candidates must have completed graduation from a recognized university by August 1, 2025. An equivalent degree will also be accepted. Regarding the age limit, the minimum age is 20 years, and the maximum age is 37 years for general males. The upper age limit for women is 40 years. Reserved categories (OBC, SC/ST, EBC) will receive relaxation. The age limit is 40 years for OBC/EBC and 42 years for SC/ST. The same applies to third gender candidates. Age will be calculated from the Matriculation certificate.

Physical Standards:
First, let's talk about height. General/OBC male candidates must be 165 cm tall, SC/ST/EBC candidates must be 160 cm tall. Female candidates of all categories must be 155 cm tall. Regarding weight, women must weigh at least 48 kg.

How to Apply?
Applying is quite easy, but be careful, as any incorrect details may result in cancellation and legal action. The fee is ₹100 for all categories (male, female, and third gender). Only one form can be filled out from one mobile number.

2. Register: Register using your mobile number and email address. If you don't have an email address, create one now. All updates will be sent to that address.
3. Fill in the details: Enter your name, date of birth, father's/husband's name, address, and educational qualifications correctly.
4. Upload your photo and signature: Upload a color photo and signature.
5. Pay the fee: Deposit ₹100 through online payment.
6. Check and submit: Verify everything. Correct any mistakes by clicking 'Edit Details'. Take a printout after the final submission.

How will the selection be done?
To become a sub-inspector, you must first take the preliminary exam, which will include objective-type questions covering general knowledge, current affairs, math, and reasoning. After qualifying, the main exam will be conducted, which will consist of descriptive/objective questions. This will be followed by a physical test, which will include running. Male candidates will be required to run 1.6 km in 6 minutes, and female candidates will be required to run 1 km in 5 minutes, high jump, and long jump. Candidates who pass this exam will undergo a medical checkup. Joining will take place after the final merit list is finalized. A stipend will also be provided during the training period.

After becoming a sub-inspector in the Bihar Police, candidates will receive a basic pay under the BPSSC's Level 6 pay matrix, starting at ₹35,400, increasing to ₹41,000–₹43,000 after five years, with a total scale ranging from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400. Your monthly in-hand salary will range from ₹49,000 to ₹54,000. This includes extras like DA (Dairy Allowance), HRA (House Rent), TA (Travel Allowance), medical benefits, uniform allowance, ration money, and city transport aid. The annual package can range from ₹4.25 lakh to ₹13.5 lakh. Upon retirement, the salary will increase further with pension, gratuity, and promotions (from Inspector to DSP).
