Mumbai: Navratri is one of the most celebrated Hindu festivals, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her nine divine forms. Over these nine days, devotees observe fasting, prayers, and rituals that symbolise strength, devotion, and positivity. Among all the traditions, Kanya Pujan (worship of young girls) holds a very special place.
Kanya Pujan is considered the most sacred ritual of Navratri, as young girls are worshipped as the living embodiment of Goddess Durga. It is believed that honoring them brings blessings of health, prosperity, and happiness to the family. In 2025, Shardiya Navratri Ashtami falls on September 30 (Tuesday), making it the most auspicious day for Kanya Pujan.
