The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2025 opened on Thursday, transforming into a lively global marketplace where tradition and modernity blended seamlessly. The venue buzzed with activity as domestic traders engaged in business discussions with foreign buyers, while delegates explored opportunities across diverse sectors. From garments and carpets to IT and electronics, the stalls reflected Uttar Pradesh’s cultural heritage and its growing strength in modern industries.
More than 2,250 exhibitors from all 75 districts of the state participated in the event. Traditional crafts such as Bhadohi’s carpets, Moradabad’s brassware, Farrukhabad’s zari-zardozi, and Firozabad’s glasswork drew strong interest from international buyers. Equally popular were the IT, electronics, and semiconductor stalls, which attracted global delegates eager to explore new investment avenues. The ODOP pavilion emerged as a centerpiece, linking district-level artistry with international markets.
Inaugurating the trade show, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Uttar Pradesh’s growing potential, crediting improved infrastructure such as expressways and airports for making the state an investment hub. He highlighted the ODOP initiative as a bridge between local identity and global demand. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath echoed this sentiment, calling the event a chance to transform Antyodaya into Rashtra Udaya. He emphasized that schemes like CM Yuva Udyami Yojana have encouraged more than 90,000 youth to become entrepreneurs, while ODOP and Vishwakarma Shramik Samman have empowered thousands of artisans with training and market access.
A key highlight of the event was the direct dialogue between Indian traders and foreign buyers. New agreements were explored in carpet exports, while investment prospects in electronics and semiconductors were actively discussed. Foreign visitors showed keen interest in apparel and handicrafts, even sampling traditional Indian sweets as they explored the exhibits.
CM Yogi underlined Uttar Pradesh’s growing global footprint, noting that the state now leads the country with 77 GI-tagged products, with plans to add 75 more. He expressed confidence that strong investments in IT, electronics, defense, and semiconductors will turn Uttar Pradesh into the “growth engine” of a developed India. Both the Prime Minister and Chief Minister assured investors that with improved law and order and robust connectivity by road, rail, air, and waterways, Uttar Pradesh offers a secure and profitable environment for global trade and investment.
