Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh in the name of Bhai Seed, Chitragupta Jayanti, Ningol Chakoba on Thursday, 23 October.
25 October, Saturday fourth Saturday weekly holiday, and 26 October, Sunday. Holiday in West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand for Chhath Puja (Evening Arghya) on 27 October, Monday at the end of the month. Why will the banks be closed for 21 days?
If seen, 15 days out of these 21 days are the holidays declared by the RBI, which fall under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays and bank accounts closing. The remaining 6 days are regular weekly holidays-such as Sundays (5, 12, 19, 26 October) and second-fourth Saturday (11, 25 October).
