Today is Mahanavami during Sharadiya Navratri. To mark this occasion, state-owned oil marketing companies (IOC, HPCL, and BPCL) have increased the price of 19-kg LPG cylinders. The new price came into effect at 6 a.m. on October 1, 2025. Previously, the price had been reduced for five consecutive months. What's the price now?
According to information from the website of the state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the price of a 19-kg confectionery or commercial cylinder in Delhi has been increased by ₹15.50. The price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi now stands at ₹1595.50, compared to ₹1580 previously. However, the price of a 14.2-kg LPG cylinder used for households remains unchanged. Its price for general consumers in Delhi remains at ₹853. Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum also follow this price.
What are the prices in other metros?
In Kolkata, the price of a 19 kg cylinder has now increased to ₹1700.50. In Mumbai, it will now be available for ₹1547.00, while in Chennai, it has reached ₹1754.50. There had been no previous price increase for commercial cylinders this financial year. In March of this year, the price of this cylinder in Delhi was ₹1803, which dropped to ₹1762 on April 1. On May 1, it was further reduced to ₹1747.50. On June 1, it was ₹1723.50, on July 1, it was ₹1665, on August 1, it was ₹1631.50, and on September 1, it was ₹1680. Thus, in five months, the price has been reduced by ₹223. Now, the price has been increased for Durga Puja.
What is the price of a domestic cylinder?
The price of a 14.2 kg cylinder used in typical households was last changed on April 8th. In Delhi, it costs ₹853 for ordinary consumers. Similarly, in Kolkata, it is ₹879, in Mumbai, ₹852.50, and in Chennai, ₹868.50. However, the price of aviation fuel (ATF) has been revised. In Delhi, it now costs ₹813.44 per kilolitre.
