Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said on Wednesday that the conversation with Ukraine is currently stalled. When asked about the possible talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelanski, Peskov said that expert-level discussion could lay the foundation for any high-level contact.

He said that such meetings “cannot be a final solution in themselves,” and it would not solve the complex and difficult problem that she told. Peskov said that Russia is open to solve the struggle through diplomacy and political dialogue.

Last week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated the common interest of a peaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis.

Let us know that two top diplomats met in New York during the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly of the 80th session.

Lavarov reiterated Russia’s readiness that it would follow the path set by the leaders of the two countries in Alaska, including coordinating with Washington to reach the root of the conflict. He opposed the proposals of Kiev and some European capitals, which could long the crisis.

The meeting also discussed extensive bilateral issues, in which the two sides emphasized the importance of restoring political and public contact, taking advantage of the pace set by Russia and US leaders to normalize relations, and to resume regular operation of diplomatic missions.

Both sides agreed to continue constructive dialogue between their foreign policy agencies.

On August 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump met Alaska. The meeting was positively evaluated, but there was no compromise on problems like Russia-Ukraine ceasefire.
