The Government Gave a Diwali Gift to Central Employees Increasing Their Da by 3 Percent

With the beginning of the new month, the central government has given Diwali gift to its employees and pensioners in the festive season. Dearness allowance for central employees and pensioners has been increased as part of the decision for the cabinet meeting.

A 3 percent increase has been announced over dearness allowance, after which the allowance allowance has increased to 58 percent of the basic salary of the employees. This increased DA for central employees and pensioners will be effective from July 1 of this year.

This decision of the central government will benefit about 49.19 lakh employees and 68.72 lakh pensioners. This increase has been done according to the approved formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

Usually, the government announced an increase in dearness allowance during the festive season. Dearness allowance and dearness relief is given by the Center to provide relief to government employees and pensioners from inflation.

Earlier this year was earlier started by the Union Cabinet on 1 January 2025 in dearness allowance and inflation relief (DR).

About 1.15 crore central employees and pensioners were benefited from this increase. After this increase by the government, dearness allowance was 55 percent of the Baisic salary. This increase was made under the formula fixed on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

After the DA is 58 percent, the central employees will get how much money will get as allowances. Suppose an employee’s basic salary is 50 thousand rupees, so they will have received Rs 27,500 as a dearness allowance.

After this current increase in DA, the same amount will be Rs 29,000. That is, an employee with a basic salary of 50 thousand rupees will get a total of 1500 rupees more than this increase. This increase will be seen in the gross salary of employees.

Employees will be given the dues of July, August and September along with the salary of October.
