The Chief Minister further said that on the day of Vijayadashami, there is also the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Gandhiji always talked about indigenous and self -sufficiency. Recalling his ideology, Chief Minister Majhi appealed to all the Odia people to adopt and support the handicrafts, handlooms and local products of their state.
He said that as the head of the state, I also shopped with my family from Bayenika today. This is not just a purchase, but a message.
At the same time, CM posted some pictures of the shopping on his X handle and wrote that today on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the family got a chance to go to Bayanika and buy some beautiful handloom products. Gandhiji always emphasized indigenous and self -reliance.
This message of the Chief Minister was to encourage ‘Vocal for Local’, so that weavers, craftsmen and small entrepreneurs of the state could get new life. He also said that this campaign is not only of economic development, but also a part of cultural renaissance.
