
Patna: A cabinet meeting was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar before the announcement of Bihar assembly elections. Records 129 agendas were approved in the final cabinet meeting probably before the election. It was also decided to increase the 10% incentive amount in the honorarium of all contract workers working under the National Health Mission. In addition, the Bihar Secretariat Stenographer Service Service was reorganized and created the post of preferred Principal Secretary.

The cabinet meeting chaired by Nitish Kumar took the historic decision and approved the most proposals ever. Before Deepawali, the dearness allowance has been increased by 3% by giving a big gift to the state workers and pensioners. Now they will get 58% DA instead of 55%, which will be applicable from 1 July 2025. Samrat Chaudhary said that the living of millions of employees and pensioners is not affected by inflation, so the government is committed to give them timely relief. This decision will bring an additional expenditure of Rs 917.78 crore in the financial year 2025-26.
