Bihar: CPI (ML) raised questions on SIR final list!

Prior to the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, CPI (ML) has raised many serious questions about the final list of SIR. The party wrote a letter to the Election Commission in this regard and demanded transparency. The CPI (ML) said that there are inconsistencies in the final list of SIR and the answers to many questions to them have not yet been revealed.

The party said in its letter that the names of 65 lakh people were cut in the draft list of SIR, after which 3 lakh 66 thousand more names were removed in the final list. The CPI (ML) questioned on which basis this name was removed from the voter list, there is no public details available.

The party demanded that the list of all the deleted voters be released, including the reason, was released after the Supreme Court intervention in the case of 65 lakh voters.

The party also stated that about 21 lakh new voters have been added to the final list, some of which are absolutely new and some are those who claimed the names after wrongly removed from the draft list. The CPI (ML) also demanded from the Commission that the entire list of older voters should be made public, whose names have been restored after claim and objection.

The CPI (ML) also described the decrease in the number of female voters as a matter of serious concern. The party said that according to the census of Bihar, the male-female ratio is 914, but this ratio is shown 892 in the final list of SIR. The party questioned why there was a decline in the number of women voters. The party sought an explanation from the Commission.

The party, citing media reports, said that the names of about 6 thousand people whose citizenship is said to be suspicious.

The party demanded that the list and base of all these people should be made public, due to which their citizenship has been questioned. The CPI (ML) also urged the Election Commission to hold the Bihar assembly elections in two phases.

The letter stated that in several stages the election process is not only tedious and expensive, but also creates inequality for parties with limited resources.

The CPI (ML) also alleged that senior officers were being made a paradising officer bypassing senior officers in many districts.

Citing the report from Bhojpur, the party further said that the officials coming from Dalit, Muslim and weaker sections are ignoring and giving priority to the officials of socially dominated groups. The party demanded that a statewide inquiry should be conducted on this and such cases should be stopped immediately.

Questioning the transparency of the election process, the party further said that 17C forms are not given to polling agents, which is an important part of the voting process. The party demanded that the Commission guarantee the strict compliance of this rule.

In addition, the party suggested that booths of Dalits, Muslims and other disadvantaged communities be able to vote easily in their area, booths should be built in their neighborhoods. If there is no government buildings, then the mobile booth (mobile booth) should be arranged.

The party hoped that the Commission would take all these issues seriously and take necessary steps so that the public confidence in the election process. The CPI (ML) further said in the letter that our aim is to maintain transparency of the election process and protect the rights of general voters.
