Patna: The Election Commission announced the Bihar assembly elections on Monday. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar held a press conference announced to hold the assembly elections in two phases. In the first phase, 121 seats will be held in the first phase and 122 seats in the second phase. Voting will be held on November 06 and 11. By -elections have also been announced in Ghatshila seat of Jharkhand. On November 11, votes will be cast in Ghatshila.

The last Bihar assembly elections were voted in three phases in 2020. The first phase on 28 October 2020, the second phase on 3 November 2020 and the third phase on 7 November 2020 were held. The counting of votes was held on 10 November 2020. It was considered necessary to hold 2020 elections in three phases because initially there were Naxalites and security problems in some parts of the state.

The last election voter participation was around 58.7%, which increased compared to 2015. The current term of the Bihar Legislative Assembly is ending on 22 November 2025. The Nice Commission has now brought the entire electoral machinery for the convenience of voters at just one call. A total of 90,712 BLOs (BLOs), 243 EROs (EROs) and 38 DEOs (DOS) have been appointed in Bihar, which can now be directly contacted. Voters can get information by calling 1950 (Voter Helpline) number. According to Election Commission data, there are a total of 7.43 crore voters in Bihar. These include around 3.92 crore males, 3.50 crore female and 1,725 ​​transgender voters. 7.2 lakh disabled voters and senior citizens above the age of 4.04 lakh 85 are also in the voter list. Apart from this, citizens of 14 thousand century voters i.e. 100 years or more are also eligible for voting. According to the data, 1.63 lakh service voters, 1.63 crore youth voters (20-29 years) and about 14.01 lakh voters (18-19 years) voters for the first time. All these figures are till 30 September 2025.
