Madhya Pradesh: – The health department of Uttar Pradesh has become alert after reports of the death of children by drinking phlegm syrup in some states of the country. Assistant Commissioner Drug Dinesh Kumar Tiwari has issued a warning to all the districts taking the matter seriously. The sale of all phlegm syrup of Colderif making company Srasan Pharmaceuticals has been banned. In every district, drug inspectors have been ordered to seize all the phlegm syrup made by the company at all government and non -government hospitals and medical stores. Start the action to stop their sale. Compile the sample and samples should be sent to the laboratory in Lucknow for examination. On the other hand, the Yogi government has also instructed all the concerned officials that negligence should not be taken at any level in this matter and the use of the said phlegm syrup should be kept completely closed till the report comes.
The order issued from the level of Assistant Drug Commissioner on Sunday stated that the presence of toxic chemicals like Diethylene Glyl and Ethelin Glyl in a special batch Cold RIF syrup by Messrs Srentry Powercutical. Both these chemicals are extremely dangerous for the body and their consumption can prove to be fatal.
Tiwari, in his order, has instructed all drug vendors, government and non-government hospitals to stop the sale, distribution and use of the said batch cuff syrup immediately. Also, a sample of stock available in shops and hospitals should be sent immediately to the State Drug Laboratory in Lucknow.
He has instructed the drug inspectors to check the availability of medicine at all places and collect samples and file an online report. Construction laboratories have also been asked to examine the proposers used in phlegm syrup. In his order, Tiwari said that after receiving the investigation report from Lucknow laboratory, necessary punitive action will be taken against the guilty producers and distributors.
