The current Alinagar seat is held by Mishri Lal Yadav who is facing allegations of rebellion. There is speculation that Mishri Lal Yadav may join the RJD. Maithili can also become a star campaigner Amidst speculation about contesting the assembly elections there is also speculation that the BJP may field Maithili Thakur as a star campaigner in the upcoming elections. It is anticipated that Maithili Thakurs candidacy could benefit the BJP in additional seats in Darbhanga and Madhubani districts.
