
Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra: Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIL) is going to be one of the most modern and future-oriented airports in India. The airport is designed to meet the demand for rising air traffic in the Mumbai Metropolitan region and western India. The project is being developed with 74% of Mumbai International Airports Limited (Assistant Company of Adani Airports Holdings Limited) and 26% of CIDCO under Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
Technology and digital features
The design of NMIAL is completely based on modern technology. The airport will be equipped with 5G ‘Connected NMIA’ network, which will improve operational efficiency and productivity. A fully contact-free process will be available for passengers under Digi Yatra, which will not require manual ID or boarding pass check. As per the IATA 753 standard, facilities like baggage tracking, Wi-FI based connectivity, smart traffic management and IOT-based real-time monitoring will be available. The facility for passengers and airport stakeholders will be ensured through the automated baggage handling system in the airport and the IN-House app ‘AVIO’.
Food and retail experience
Terminal 1 will have Articenal T, Mumbai’s popular F&B brand ‘Bombay Bond’, Casual Dining, Miscellaneous Quizine of India and abroad, Chef-Curated Concept, Bruri and Bar, and Indian Street Food Experience for passengers. The retail space will be spread over 5,000 sqm and duty-free space 1,800 sqm, which will have 110 retail and F&B outlets. Passengers will also get digital facilities and booking facilities through Adani OneApp.
Digital art and cultural experience
The airport will also be a platform for digital art and cultural programs internationally. The cultural heritage of Maharashtra and India will be displayed through digital technology.
