The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has formulated a new plan to increase the declining number of children in schools. The MCD Education Committee is launching an outreach program aimed at increasing enrollment in its schools following a slight decline in student numbers. Under the program, children will be provided with free meals, uniforms, and stationery.

According to Yogesh Verma, Chairman of the MCD Education Committee, MCD schools currently have approximately 6.5 lakh students. He stated that the goal is to increase this number by at least 100,000. According to media reports, under the plan, two teachers from each school will visit different clusters and neighborhoods every Saturday to encourage parents and families to enroll their children.

Parents will be provided with this information.
Officials stated that teachers will inform parents about the benefits of MCD-run schools, such as free meals, uniforms, and stationery. To motivate staff, the corporation will also announce a "Corporation Award" for teachers who successfully enroll a high number of students.

Meanwhile, children with disabilities studying in Delhi government schools will now have access to a wide range of therapeutic services through the Education Department's resource centers, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and counseling support from clinical psychologists.

Grandparents Day to be Celebrated in MCD Schools
Grandparents Day will be celebrated in the Delhi Municipal Corporation schools. It will be organized in 1,536 schools on a pilot basis. The Ministry of Education has approved a budget of ₹153.6 lakh for this program. Each school will receive ₹10,000 for organizing the event. The Directorate of Education has also issued guidelines to the schools in this regard.
