Harjas Singh found his way into the history books on October 4 when he slammed a 300 against Sydney Cricket Club in limited-overs grade cricket. The Aussie of Indian origin was representing Western Suburbs. He became the first player to slam a triple century in the limited-overs format of grade-level cricket.
Harjas Singh’s Record KnockThe 20-year-old hit 314 from 141 balls and hit 35 sixes as the world sat up and took notice. While he’s the first to breach the 300-run mark in an innings of a 50-over grade cricket match, the likes of Phil Jaques (321) and Victor Trumper (335) are the players to do it in New South Wales Premier first-grade cricket overall.

While Harjas was born in Australia, Sydney to be specific, his roots are Indian. His parents migrated from Chandigarh to Sydney in 2000. A little over a year ago, Harjas was the hero for Australia in the Under-19 World Cup final vs India. His 64-ball 55 helped Australia win the game by 79 runs and bring home the title.
Harjas was over the moon regarding his feat and while speaking to Fox Cricket, he displayed his joy as he is aware that this innings could take his cricket career forward. Who knows? Maybe a senior debut is in the making.

"Definitely, that's the cleanest ball-striking I've ever done, for sure. It's something I'm quite proud of because I've worked in the off-season quite a bit on my power-hitting, and for it to come off today was quite special," he said.
"I've missed out the last season or two, worrying about stuff outside my own game. But I feel like I've brought myself to just worrying about what's going on with my own game," he added.
