
Hundreds of Metro Bank customers have reported serious issues with the banking app this morning as some have seen their accounts totally wiped. Reports have been made to the website Down Detector, pinning the problems to online banking, mobile banking, and transferring funds.
The bank has confirmed it is having technical issues with features allowing people to send and receive money. A statement on its service page reads: "We're currently having issues with our payment services.We're working to fix this as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you."
One worried customer took to the social media platform X: "What is going on? All my transactions duplicated and is leaving me in minus/ no access to funds." (SIC)
Another wrote to the bank: "Morning what on earth is going on with the app this morning and why is my balance showing -£99 odd?"
