Have you ever wondered if you could set your own UPI ID? Yes, to make digital payments easier and safer, Paytm recently introduced a great feature. Using this feature, you can set your own UPI ID. This means you no longer have to rely on the default ID for payments; instead, you can use your own preferred UPI ID.
The biggest advantage of this feature is that it maintains both your privacy and security. You won't need to provide your phone number or email ID when making transactions; instead, you can use a custom text ID. Currently, 90 out of 100 people don't know about this feature. Let's learn how to create your own UPI ID...
How to create your own UPI ID?
First, open the Paytm app.
Then click on the profile icon in the top left.
You will now see the UPI & Payment Settings option. Click on it.
Here, you have to click on the option 'Try Personalized UPI ID'.
After this, enter the UPI ID of your choice or select one from the suggested list.
Now, upon clicking Confirm, your new ID will be activated.
The option will soon be available on these apps, too
Recent reports say that after Paytm, Google Pay and PhonePe may also introduce such a feature soon. Although this option is not yet available to all users within the Google Pay app, it is expected that it may be rolled out to everyone in the coming days.
Paytm initially launched this feature only with Yes Bank and Axis Bank. However, now customers of HDFC Bank and SBI can also create a UPI ID of their choice.
