Bihar Assembly Election 2025:The dates of Bihar Assembly elections have been officially announced. According to the Election Commission, voting will be held in two phases, the first phase on November 6 and the second on November 11. Whereas, the results will be announced on 14th November. But as the elections are approaching, the major political parties of the state still seem to be confused about seat distribution and the chief ministerial face.
Struggle over CM face in Grand Alliance
The grand alliance led by RJD and Congress is not unanimous regarding the chief ministerial candidate. RJD is continuously demanding to declare Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face, while Congress seems to be dilly-dallying on this proposal.
Congress leader Udit Raj bluntly
Congress leader Udit Raj clarified while talking to the media that Tejashwi Yadav can only be the chief ministerial candidate of RJD, but the face of the entire India block will be decided collectively. He also added that the Congress headquarters will take the final decision on this, which makes it clear that the support from the Congress regarding Tejashwi is not clear.
Rahul Gandhi also gave a vague answer
Tejashwi Yadav may have been Deputy CM twice and gets credit for RJD’s success in the 2020 elections, but Congress is not openly supporting his CM claim. Even when Rahul Gandhi was asked about this, instead of giving a direct answer, he said that the India Bloc allies are working together and will fight the elections together.
Was a candidate for CM post in 2020 also
Tejashwi Yadav is the son of former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. His political experience is deep and he is also popular among the youth. He was also the face of the Grand Alliance in the 2020 assembly elections. He recently gave a statement that the Grand Alliance will not contest the elections without declaring the Chief Minister candidate.
While on one hand NDA is moving towards clarifying its strategy, on the other hand there is uncertainty regarding seat sharing and leadership in the grand alliance. The impact of this political confusion can be clearly seen on the election environment in the coming weeks.
