
It has only been six days to the release of Rishab Shetty ’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 sequel to his 2022 blockbuster film Kantara and records have not stopped to stumble. The film has grossed the highest collection for Friday, Saturday , Sunday and Monday of 2025 and by this morning it has become the 3rd biggest hit of 2025 surpassing Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj ’s Coolie . At the end of six days Kantara 2 minted Rs 290.25 crore edging past Coolie’s lifetime collection of Rs 285.01 crore.
Kantara 2 opened to a massive Rs 61.85 crore day 1 collection becoming the third biggest opener of 2025 behind Coolie and Pawan Kalyan ’s They Call Him OG. But from second day onwards the film has not looked behind as on 2nd day ( Friday) it collected Rs 45.4 crore, on Saturday the collections jumped to Rs 55 crore and on Sunday they spiked again to Rs 63 crore. Rs 1.15 crore more than it’s first day collection. On Monday the collections dipped by 50 % and collected Rs 31.5 crore and on Tuesday the numbers spiked once again as it collected Rs 33.5 crore - Rs 2 crore more than Monday. And with that the total collection of the film has now reached Rs 290.25 crore in just 6 days going well ahead of Coolie’s lifetime collection.
The only two films ahead of Kantara 2 are Mohit Suri , Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda ’s Saiyaara with Rs 329.7 crore and Vicky Kaushal , Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna and Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava with Rs 601.54 crore. The true journey for Kantara 2 will be decided in the second weekend- those three days will showcase if the film has legs to cross Rs 500 crore mark or not. At this point the film is crossing the Rs 300 crore mark by tonight.
Kantara 2 features Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and Rakimini Vasanth in pivotal roles, the makers have also announced the third part with the climax of the second part.
