Following the announcement of the Indian team for the Australia tour, it was confirmed that Rohit Sharma has been removed as the ODI captain, with Shubman Gill appointed as the 28th ODI captain of India. Despite losing the captaincy, Rohit has been included in the squad and is expected to give his best performance as a batsman during the tour.
