Following the announcement of the Indian team for the Australia tour, it was confirmed that Rohit Sharma has been removed as the ODI captain, with Shubman Gill appointed as the 28th ODI captain of India. Despite losing the captaincy, Rohit has been included in the squad and is expected to give his best performance as a batsman during the tour.

Rohit Sharma made his first major statement at the CEAT Awards ceremony in Mumbai, expressing his fondness for playing in Australia. He said, “I love playing against Australia. I enjoy touring Australia,” adding, “The people of Australia love cricket. And that’s why I love playing there.” His confident remarks indicate he is motivated to perform well in the upcoming series regardless of leadership roles.

Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy, who was honored as the T20 International Bowler of the Year at the same event, praised Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir. Varun said Gambhir has instilled a Spartan mentality within the team, where losing is not an option and every player must give their best on the field to help the team win. He emphasized that Gambhir encourages maximum effort, making mediocrity unacceptable.

This combination of Rohit Sharma’s renewed commitment and Gamrbhir’s motivational coaching is seen as a positive force driving the Indian team ahead of their challenging Australia tour.
