A Sky News presenter has announced that she is signing off from her "final Politics Hub" in a new shakeup. Sophy Ridge is Sky's lead politics presenter and first joined the news programme back in 2011. The 40-year-old was previously the first woman to present a Sunday morning political show, Sophy Ridge on Sunday, from 2017 to 2023. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to interview several British Prime Ministers, including Sir Keir Starmer, Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss, Boris Johnson, Theresa May, David Cameron, Gordon Brown, and Tony Blair. After starting her journalism career at News of the World, she joined Sky News and has also covered major political events, including elections in Washington and Downing Street.

Speaking about moving away from the Politics Hub, Sophie penned on X: "Signing off from my final Politics Hub... it's been a joy & a pleasure working with the best team in the business."

One follower said in the comments: "End of an era! Well done to you and the team on so many great shows, with real news and insight. Good luck for the next chapter!"

Another also chimed in: "Aww will miss you Sophy, you brightened up my evenings with your insight and wit, good luck with your new adventure, from a fellow Fontaines DC fan, Television Screens."

A third also echoed: "Looking forward to the next chapter! Count Binface was my favourite politics hub guest and seeing you try to hold it together. See you at breakfast."

A fellow Sky News correspondent also said on X: "@SophyRidgeSky bows out as Politics Hub presenter at Tory conference in Manchester. She was previously "queen of the dawn" as early morning political correspondent. Now she becomes unrivalled "queen of the dawn" as presenter of new Sky News breakfast show."

Earlier this year, she was awarded the Presenter of the Year award at the RTS Awards, which she described as a "pinch yourself moment."

The award has also been previously given to the likes of Susanna Reid, Clive Myrie, and Emily Maitlis.
