
Mumbai Metro Line-3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday inaugurated the final phase of the Mumbai Metro Line-3 also called the Aqua Line. The 10.99-km-long Phase 2B stretch of the Mumbai Metro that connects and Acharya Atre Chowk and Cuffe Parade is part of the first fully underground in the Maharashtra capital and will become fully operational from Thursday. The 33.5 km-long Aqua Line metro corridor was inaugurated virtually by PM Modi from the venue in Navi Mumbai where he also inaugurated the Navi Mumbai International Airport. Mumbai Metro Line-3 list of stations: According to Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) the Aqua Line metro corridor will have 27 stations over the nearly 34-km long stretch from Cuffe Parade to Acharya Atre Chowk. Check out the complete breakdown of fares; Up to 3 km: Rs 10 Beyond 3 km to 12 km: Rs 20 12 km to 18 km: Rs 30 18 to 24 km: Rs 40 24 km to 30 km: Rs 50 Beyond 30 km: Rs 60 Mumbai Metro Line-3 route timings As noted above the Mumbai Metro Line-3 corridor will cover a distance of 33.5 km boosting connectivity to major hubs in Mumbai city including Nariman Point Fort Kalbadevi RBI BSE and Mantralaya. It will also connect to Central Railway at CSMT and Western Railway at Mumbai Central and Churchgate improving intermodal travel. Additionally the Aqua Line will directly connect to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport from south Mumbai. According to the MMRC the first service from both Aarey JVLR and Cuffe Parade will start at 5.55 am while the last train will depart at 10.30 pm from both directions reaching terminal stations by 11.25 pm. About Mumbai Metro Line-3 route Built at a cost of Rs 12195 crore work on final stretch of the Mumbai Metro Line-3 route started in in 2017 under the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) and involved the simultaneous deployment of 17 Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) a first in India marking a major milestone in underground construction un the city.
