Recently, the indigenous company Zoho got the attention of the public. Recently the government has been promoting the company’s instant messaging app, Arattai. Currently, the company seems to be shifting its focus to major investments in the hardware industry.

Recently, Zoho has started selling point-of-sale (POS) machines, which are integrated with QR devices and soundboxes. India’s retail stores most commonly used Paytm and PhonePe’s POS systems, which are paired with QR code payment systems.

These smart POS devices, which are equipped with touchscreen systems and integrated, auto-printing receipt makers, will be provided by Zoho Payments. This company will also expand its services of smart payment terminals, which will likely compete with Paytm, PhonePe, and Google Pay.

Merchants can enjoy the flexibility of using Zoho’s payment terminals, which support multiple payment methods and connections. Payments can be settled using chip cards, UPI, and QR code payments.

According to Zoho Payment’s CEO, the company’s software payment solutions and the subsequent support of online payments across devices are the main reasons for their expansion.

The company has started to sell hardware. Given that Zoho has all the tools necessary to assist small businesses, the support will extend to the payment terminal. Merchants will be able to reach all real-time payment processing and full payment accounting support under one umbrella.

Business users will appreciate the unified dashboard. The dashboard provides quick access to payment and billing information to all users. Zoho has PCI DSS compliance, which ensures the protection of sensitive payment data.

Arattai’s Popularity is Growing

WhatsApp is the most widely used instant messaging app in India. Now, Zoho’s indigenous Arattai app is here, which provides calling and meeting features in addition to texting.

Arattai has not provided end to end (E2E) chat encryption, which is why taking Arattai as a secure messaging app is problematic. The company has proposed to provide chat users with the ability to E2E encrypt their conversations.

E2E encryption is the highest level of protection that one can provide to ensure that a chat remains private. As personal Arattai chats become unprotected, data breaches become a real threat. Without E2E encryption, chat messages can be accessed by the company, cybercrimes, and data theft.

Independent security researchers have reviewed WhatsApp’s multiple audits on end-to-end encryption. It will be interesting to see how the indigenous Arattai competes with WhatsApp.
