Hyderabad: Rly announces special train, makes terminal changes, route upgrades to cut travel time, meet passenger demand

Hyderabad: To accommodate more passengers, the South Central Railway (SCR) has decided to continue running special trains between Hyderabad and Anakapalle. Earlier, these trains started the journey from Charlapalli, but now they will start from Hyderabad station.

Train number 07035 will travel from Hyderabad to Anakapalle every Saturday from October 11 to November 29, 2025. In the opposite direction, train number 07036 will run from Anakapalle to Hyderabad every Sunday between October 12 and November 30, 2025. Each direction will have a total of eight train services.

Stoppages and coaches: The trains will halt at: Secunderabad, Khammam, Warangal, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, and Tuni. The trains will have coaches for all kinds of passengers – 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper, and General.

Dehradun train starting point changed to Hyderabad

The South Central Railway also updated the departure station for the special train going to Dehradun. From now on, passengers heading to Dehradun will board the train from Hyderabad (Nampally) station instead of Charlapalli.

Train numbers 07077 and 07078, which used to run from Charlapalli to Dehradun, will start operating from Hyderabad station beginning October 14. The return train from Dehradun will also stop at Hyderabad station starting October 16. As per the new timetable, this train will leave Hyderabad every Tuesday and reach Dehradun the next day at 7:20 PM.

Secunderabad–Kazipet route to get 4 tracks, cut travel time

People travelling from Hyderabad towards Balharshah, Nagpur, or Delhi may be able to reach faster as travel time on the route is expected to drop by 30 to 60 minutes. The forever busy rail line between Secunderabad and Kazipet will be be expanded into a four-track route.

This 110-km-long project is expected to cost over Rs 2,800 crore. The final location survey is already done, and SCR has sent the detailed project report (DPR) to the Railway Board for approval. Once finished, the trains on this line could run at speeds up to 130 kmph and this will reduce traffic on the busy track. Every day, around 150 trains use this section.

This upgrade, especially the third and fourth lines between Secunderabad (Ghatkesar) and Kazipet, is one of the important infrastructure projects approved by the Railway Ministry. This route passes through several key districts in Telangana like Medchal–Malkajgiri, Yadadri–Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon, and Hanumakonda.
