
Kantara Chapter 1 box office collection Day 7: Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 continues to dominate the box office, emerging as a massive blockbuster within just a week of release. The action-drama, which serves as a prequel to the 2022 cult hit Kantara, has surpassed the Rs 300 crore mark in India.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned approximately Rs 25 crore net in India on Wednesday, pushing its total domestic collection to Rs 316 crore. The movie opened with a thunderous Rs 61.45 crore on Thursday and maintained a strong momentum through the weekend, collecting Rs 45.4 crore on Friday, Rs 55 crore on Saturday, and Rs 63 crore on Sunday.
Kantara Chapter 1 collectionWhile weekday figures witnessed a natural decline, Kantara: Chapter 1 still held firm, bringing in Rs 31.5 crore on Monday and Rs 34.25 crore on Tuesday, before closing the week on a high note. With these numbers, the film now ranks behind only KGF: Chapter 2 in terms of lifetime earnings among Kannada films.
Rishab Shetty reacts to Kantara: Chapter 1’s successDirector and lead actor Rishab Shetty addressed the film’s extraordinary run during a press interaction in New Delhi. Speaking about its reception, he said, “We began the world of Kantara from the first film, and since then, we have explored the dynamic between nature and humans. This story is rooted in our folklore from coastal Karnataka, and we want to talk about the tribes, the folklore, and deity worship in our film.”
Reflecting on the film’s global acceptance, he added, “Since then, I have had a thought that regional can also be universal. This time with this success, that point has once again been proven that our film is being accepted globally.”
