Will Kirk, who is best known for his role on The Repair Shop, has opened up about a disastrous decorating blunder he made at his new family home. While he is renowned for his furniture restoration skills, the 40-year-old confessed to not always knowing the best thing to do, specifically when it comes to flooring.
Elaborating on an error he made while sanding his floor, the BBC star admitted it was so "awful", he was left cleaning up for an entire week.
When asked about his biggest decorating disaster, he told House Beautiful: "Sanding the floor and not realising that I hadn't put the bag on the sander.
"I had my ear defenders on and was just looking at the lines on the floor, then suddenly the room got darker and darker. The paper bag wasn't attached and sawdust was flying out the back."

With "thick dust everywhere", Will recalled having to "vacuum the air", adding: "It was absolutely awful."
The father-of-two is currently renovating the new home he shares with his wife Polly and their young children.
After moving in around 18 months ago following a lifetime spent in London, he confessed to finally feeling settled in the Surrey Hills.
Speaking fondly of their residence, he added: "I spend so much of the year working away and filming, so home is my sanctuary. We've been living in our new house for about a year and a half.

"We were in a small flat in London for about seven years and, finally, we've got our own bricks and mortar house in Surrey. I literally love my life now."
To transform the property precisely as they envision, the furniture restorer has picked up some fresh skills during the process, including plastering.
Offering a glimpse into their interior design approach, he revealed the couple are concentrating on neutral shades with "pops of colour in cushions and artwork", dismissing anything "too bold".
He jokingly added: "I found out the other day it's all my wife's ideas and I just do the labour! When everything looks great, she'll say, 'Oh, I just had this vision', meanwhile I'm priming panels at 1am when the kids are sleeping."
Will and Polly's relocation comes just over four years after their picture-perfect wedding in the Cotswolds.
The pair managed to walk down the aisle in front of family and friends back in 2021, after they were forced to delay their big day due to the Covid pandemic.
Reflecting on memories from the occasion on Instagram, Will shared four photographs of the newlyweds and typed: "The best day of my life. Thank you to all who attended and to those that helped to make it happen."
Fans can catch Will and the rest of The Repair Shop team tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
