In the Women's World Cup 2025, Indian wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh has played an innings which hardly any cricket fan will be able to forget. Richa Ghosh played an inning of 94 runs in 77 balls against South Africa. This player missed a century but her innings is no less than a century. That is because at one time Team India had lost 7 wickets for 153 runs but Richa Ghosh did excellent hitting and took Team India to 251 runs. The unique thing about Richa Ghosh's innings was that this player did not score any runs on more than 50 percent of the balls, but despite this she batted so effectively.
Richa Ghosh did not score runs in 39 balls
Richa Ghosh hit 11 fours and 4 sixes in her innings. His strike rate was more than 122. But the big thing is that Richa did not score any runs on 39 out of 77 balls. However, Richa scored 94 runs in 38 balls which is a big proof of her powerful hitting. Richa Ghosh also made a world record during this innings.
Richa Ghosh's record
Richa Ghosh has become the female cricketer to score the highest ODI score while batting at number 8. Earlier this record was in the name of Chloe Tryons, she had played an innings of 74 runs against Sri Lanka but now Richa has captured this record. Richa Ghosh also added 88 runs with Sneh Rana for the 8th wicket, which is also the biggest partnership in a World Cup match.
India's top order failed
Richa Ghosh batted brilliantly but the middle order of Team India once again failed. Pratika Rawal scored 37 runs but her strike rate was only 66. Mandhana could score only 23 runs. Harleen Deol scored 13 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur was able to score 9 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues could not even open an account. Deepti Sharma scored 4 runs.
