After this these symptoms start reducing, but every morning starts with the same problem. This condition is commonly called morning flu syndrome, in which flu-like symptoms appear in the morning. Morning cold quickly affects the nose and throat, causing sneezing and coughing. In such a situation, it is possible to prevent it by knowing the true reason.
Morning flu syndrome is not limited to just coughing and sneezing but includes other symptoms as well. Many people feel sore throat, mild headache or heaviness when they wake up in the morning. A blocked or runny nose is also a symptom, especially if it’s to allergies or sinus problems. In some cases, there may be burning, watering or itching of the eyes. The body may feel slightly tired or sluggish as the immune system reacts to sudden exposure to cold air or dust after a night’s sleep. This symptom is usually more severe in the morning and gradually subsides throughout the day.
Is coughing and sneezing in the morning a disease?
According to doctors, this is not a disease but could be a sign of some underlying cause. In the morning, the level of humidity, cold air and pollution constantly changes, causing the sensitive lining of the nose and throat to react. Often, this is the body’s reaction to seasonal allergies, dust or pollen. Some people have sinus problems, due to which mucus accumulates overnight and comes out in the form of sneezing and cough in the morning.
If these symptoms appear occasionally and resolve with time, there is no need to worry. However, if they appear every morning and persist throughout the day, they may be a symptom of allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, or an underlying infection. It is important to consult a doctor to treat the underlying cause.
How to protect yourself:
Clean the room and bedding regularly to prevent the growth of dust and allergies.
Keep the room temperature neither too cold nor too hot at night.
Do not open the window suddenly as soon as you wake up in the morning, let the air come in slowly.
If you have allergy problems, use an air purifier or mask.
Drink water and gargle with warm water, this keeps the throat clear.
If symptoms occur daily, be sure to see a doctor to check for allergies or sinus.
