Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford may soon find himself deployed away from his favoured left-sided attacking role at Barcelona. The 27-year-old made the switch to Catalonia on a season-long loan deal in July following Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim's decision that he had no future in his plans.
The Catalan giants possess the option to make Rashford's move permanent for £30million in 2026. Following his impressive displays since the September international break, Barcelona are said to be eager to land the England international, though they're hoping to negotiate a reduced fee of approximately £26m.
Rashford has three years remaining on his existing Old Trafford contract, which he penned in July 2023 after netting a career-high 30 goals for United during the 2022/23 campaign.

Throughout his career, Rashford has mainly operated as a left-winger, though he's occasionally been deployed on the opposite flank and up front.
During a conversation with Gary Neville nearly two years ago on The Overlap's YouTube channel, Rashford was questioned about whether the right side represented his most challenging position across the front three. "Yeah, definitely," he responded.
"It's just the angles of the runs you make in behind – because most of my game is running in behind and trying to stretch defences and give space to some of the other players.
"But the angles of the runs sometimes, I feel like I run too far inside, and then I'm running backwards the other way to try and get the ball.
"Whereas on the left, it's just natural to do it, it feels more normal."

Barcelona boss Flick is reportedly considering a new role for Marcus Rashford when the La Liga champions return from the international break, as he 'sees something different' for the attacking line following two consecutive losses to Paris Saint Germain and Sevilla.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Manchester United academy graduate could be utilised as a No.9 under Flick's management, with Raphinha taking up position on the left wing and Lamine Yamal on the right.
The report suggests that this attacking line-up could be seen in Barca's next match - a home game against Catalan rivals Girona on Saturday, October 18. Barcelona will then welcome Olympiacos to their home ground four days later for a Champions League clash.
