Dinesh, a 28-year-old pharmaceutical employee, was allegedly doused with boiling oil and chili powder by his wife while he was sleeping. Dinesh is in critical condition following the attack and is battling for his life in the ICU of Safdarjung Hospital.

What happened that night?

This horrific incident occurred around 3 a.m. on October 3rd. According to the report, Dinesh stated in his complaint that he returned from work late on October 2nd, had dinner, and went to sleep. His wife and eight-year-old daughter were sleeping nearby. Then, at 3:15 a.m., Dinesh felt a severe burning sensation on his body. He saw his wife pour boiling oil on him and then sprinkle red chili powder on the fresh wounds. When Dinesh protested, his wife threatened, "If you make any noise, I'll pour more oil on you."

People rushed to his house after hearing the screams

Hearing Dinesh's screams, neighbors and the landlord's family immediately rushed to his house. Anjali, the landlord's daughter, said, "My father went upstairs and saw that the door was locked. We asked him to open it. When the door opened, Dinesh was writhing in pain, and his wife was hiding inside the house." Anjali's father took Dinesh to the hospital in an auto because his wife was taking him in the wrong direction.

History of marital discord

According to the police, Dinesh and his wife had previously had disputes during their eight-year marriage. His wife had filed a complaint with the Crime Against Women Cell, but the matter was resolved amicably. Following this incident, a case has been registered against his wife under sections 118, 124, and 326 of the IPC.

Medical condition and police action

Doctors described Dinesh's injuries as "critical." He suffered deep wounds on his chest, face, and arms. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
