
The news of Team India’s rising cricket star Rinku Singh receiving threat from the underworld has come to light. Mumbai Crime Branch investigation has revealed that notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s gang “D-Company” had demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore from Rinku’s promotional team three times between February and April 2025. Police have also arrested two suspects in this case.
Two persons named Mohammad Dilshad and Mohammad Naveed have been arrested by the police. Both were captured from the West Indies and brought to India on 1 August. These accused were earlier arrested for demanding ransom of Rs 10 crore from Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of former MLA Baba Siddiqui. According to the report of TV9, during interrogation, one of the accused admitted that he had called Rinku Singh’s team and threatened them with ransom.
Although Rinku has not suffered any direct harm so far, this incident has raised concerns about her safety. Coming from an ordinary family of Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh), Rinku has made his mark with his brilliant performance in cricket. Recently he got engaged to MP Priya Saroj, which has increased his popularity even more. Due to this growing recognition, now the eyes of the underworld are also fixed on him.
Rinku Singh has so far played 54 T20 International matches for India, in which he has scored 550 runs. His strike rate is 161.77 and average is 42.31. In IPL, he has scored 1099 runs in 58 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and was also a part of the 2024 IPL winning team. Rinku also recently left her mark in the final of Asia Cup 2025. In this match played against Pakistan, he led India to victory by hitting a four in the last over. In this match, Tilak Verma also played an unbeaten inning of 69 runs. Now that the police has started action in this case, the security of Rinku Singh has been increased and the investigation of the case is going on.
