World Mental Health Day 2025: Everyone’s lifestyle has become irregular due to busy life and wrong eating habits are adversely affecting the health. In this chaotic life, everyone, whether young or old, is struggling with some problem or the other. Stress and depression are two such dangerous negative effects, which make a person physically and mentally unhealthy.

Like every year, today 10th October is being celebrated as World Mental Health Day regarding mental health. Its aim is to raise awareness about mental health among people and to make them understand that mental problems are as serious as physical illnesses. But the worrying thing is that today’s youth are increasingly suffering from mental problems like depression, anxiety and stress.

These factors have a bad effect on mental health

In this way, fast-paced lifestyle, social media pressure, career uncertainty and instability in relationships, all these are having a deep impact on the mental health of the youth. Today’s youth constantly compare themselves with others. Apart from this, not getting enough sleep, poor eating habits, lack of physical activities, and digital addiction also increase this problem. Being immersed in mobile and laptop screens day and night not only tires the eyes but also the mind. Being under depression and stress has a negative impact on mental health. Here people shy away from going to a psychologist or psychiatrist, due to which the situation worsens. In such a situation, one thing to be noted is that even if a person is physically healthy, it is not necessary that he is mentally healthy also.

Ways to prevent depression

If you are suffering from problems like depression then you should take protection here. Here the most important thing to prevent depression is to talk openly. Sharing your feelings with family or friends can lighten the mental burden to a great extent. Also, things like meditation and yoga help in keeping the mind calm. Apart from this, you can also include adequate sleep, balanced diet and digital detox in your daily routine. In case of serious symptoms, one should not hesitate in taking help from a specialist. Here it is important for the youth to understand that mental health is not a weakness, but the real strength of a human being. Just as the treatment of body’s disease is possible, similarly there is a solution to the problems of the mind also.
