Hollywood star Selena Gomez has spoken openly about her wish to become a mother one day, expressing both excitement and warmth as she looks ahead to starting a family with her husband, music producer Benny Blanco.

The singer and actress recently shared a heartfelt Instagram Story while celebrating her return to the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Referring to her iconic character, she wrote, “Alex Russo is a mommy. Hopefully one day that’ll be me.”

Her post included a clip from the final episode of the new Disney+ series, which reveals Alex Russo as the mother of a character named Billie Russo. Fans flooded social media with supportive messages, praising Gomez for embracing both her past and future roles.

Speaking about filming the emotional episode, Gomez and her co-star Janice LeAnn Brown recalled how deeply they connected on set. “It was very emotional,” Brown said, describing the moment after their table read. Gomez agreed, adding, “We were just puddles.”

The Who Says singer has also shared her feelings about motherhood before. During an interview on the Jay Shetty Podcast earlier this year, Gomez said she and Benny Blanco are excited about the idea of starting a family. “I don’t know when it will happen, but I love children,” she said. “They’re so sweet, and I love making them laugh. When that day comes, I’ll be so ready for it.”

Blanco has also spoken about Gomez’s natural connection with children. He shared that she always gravitates toward kids in any room, spending hours talking and playing with them.

Gomez’s love for children, he added, comes from her early years working on family-friendly shows like Barney & Friends and Wizards of Waverly Place.
