Actress Maham Aamir has revealed the challenges she faced at the start of her acting career because of her height. She said a female owner of a TV channel once refused to cast her in a drama, saying she was too tall to be a lead actress.

Maham shared her experience during a recent appearance on private TV’s morning show. She spoke openly about the difficulties tall girls often face in society and in the entertainment industry.

She explained that in school, her height made people assume she was older than her age. Many even thought she had failed in her studies because she was still in school, which was far from the truth.

Her parents, she said, always encouraged her, but society constantly mocked her for being tall.

Maham said that when she was invited by a well-known TV channel for a drama, she met the female owner. The owner told her she could not be cast because of her height. She added that the woman said, “You are too tall. You can never be a heroine. Even male actors are not this tall.”

The owner even suggested Maham consider another career path. But Maham stood her ground and told her that it was fine if she was denied work because of her height. She promised that one day she would become a successful actress.

Later, Maham pursued acting and proved herself in the industry. Even the same TV channel owner noticed her success. Maham did not name anyone but expressed disappointment over the initial rejection.

Earlier, Maham Aamir, the striking Pakistani actress known for her fearless personality, recently captivated audiences on the popular comedy talk show Mazaq Raat. Beyond laughter and banter, she made a profound confession: “I have beaten more than half a dozen men in markets and streets for harassing and misbehaving with me.

Standing tall since her school days, Maham said her height was both a blessing and a shield. “Because I’m tall, boys were always intimidated,” she shared. That physical presence empowered her to confront and teach a hard lesson to men who crossed the line. In one evening stroll, she recalled confronting a stranger who had catcalled her, and proceeded to teach him a painful lesson in accountability. This bold confession shocked the live audience, reflecting not only her strength but a growing demand for respect toward women in public spaces.
