Fed up with endlessly browsing through streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus trying to find your next must-watch series? Countless viewers find themselves trapped in this cycle, only to become frustrated with the time wasted and end up rewatching something familiar.

However, there's one gripping thriller that deserves a spot on your viewing list if you haven't discovered it yet, and fans are absolutely raving about it. TikTok content creator Onyi Okorie recently shared a video urging viewers to add The Girlfriend on Amazon Prime to their must-watch lists.

"Nothing has been this good since Paradise," she declared, referencing the political sci-fi thriller centred around a former president's death in an apparently tranquil community.

She went on: "You guys need to watch The Girlfriend on Amazon Prime, I've not seen anything like it. I've literally sat for six hours ange binge-watched this entire show. The ending. Don't even get me started on the ending.

"There's a reason why this is number one in the UK right now on Prime [at the time of writing it is number 2]. One thing about me, I know good TV. You need to add this to your watch-list. 10 out of 10."

The Girlfriend is a psychological thriller series helmed by House of Cards veteran Robin Wright and BAFTA-nominated Andrea Harkin.

It features Robin as Laura, Olivia Cooke (House of the Dragon) as Cherry Laine, Laurie Davidson (Mary & George) as Daniel, Waleed Zuater (Gangs of London) as Howard and Tanya Moodie (Sherlock) as Isabellla. The blurb reads: "In this gripping psychological thriller, Laura (Robin Wright) seems to have it all: a sparkling career, a devoted husband, and her cherished son, Daniel. But when Daniel brings home Cherry (Olivia Cooke), his new girlfriend, Laura's perfect life starts to unravel. Laura is convinced that Cherry is hiding something. Is she a cunning social climber, or is Laura just paranoid? The truth depends on who's looking."

While some viewers had already seen the series and wholeheartedly agreed with her, others were eager to dive in themselves. One person exclaimed: "Binged it yesterday, I need season 2 ASAP!!".

Another viewer chimed in: "Just watched after your recommendation, please recommend more."

A third added: "I just finished it an hour ago and it was so good, never heard of Paradise but I'm gonna check it out."

One person declared: "I'm trusting you! Starting it right now," while another simply stated: "Sold!".

If you're still on the hunt for your next binge-watch, you might want to add a "hidden gem" to your list. According to Eccy Reviews on social media, you're "missing out" if you haven't seen We Own This City on Amazon Prime, as it's "way too good to be kept a secret".

Luke explained the plot, saying: "This tells the true story of Baltimore's Gun Trace Task Force and how corrupt it was, from planting evidence to robbing innocent people on the streets."

Luke lauded the show, stating it includes "one of the biggest downfalls ever" and commended the cast for their "genuinely brilliant" performances. He added: "I was completely hooked from start to finish. It's one of the best shows I've watched in a long time."
