Afghanistan and Pakistan The border tension that has been going on for years between India and Pakistan took a violent turn on Sunday. The armies of both the countries are once again face to face. The Afghan Taliban regime has claimed to have captured several Pakistani posts, while Pakistan has warned of retaliatory action. The situation on the border is very tense and a war-like situation seems to be developing between the two countries.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the alleged attacks from Afghanistan and said that there will be no compromise on the security and sovereignty of the country. He accused the Taliban administration of making its land a safe haven for terrorists. The Prime Minister warned that Pakistan will respond to every provocation with “force and effectiveness”.
25 posts captured, 58 Pak soldiers killed
Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that the Afghan army has taken control of 25 military posts of Pakistan. According to Afghan claim, 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 30 were injured in these clashes. However, there has been no official confirmation of these claims from Pakistan. Afghan media also reported that this action has been taken in response to recent air strikes by Pakistan.
Pak soldiers taken hostage, Afghanistan released pictures
Late Saturday night, the Afghan army retaliated against Pakistan. According to reports, Afghan forces targeted several border posts of Pakistan in a 3-hour operation and took 7 Pakistani soldiers hostage. The Taliban government has also released photographs of the hostages. The attack took place near the Durand Line, where the border dispute between the two countries has been going on for decades.
Operation started after Pakistan’s missile strike
According to the information, Pakistan had launched a missile attack near Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan on Thursday. In response to that, the Afghan army started attacking with heavy weapons at around 10 pm on Saturday night. Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riaz, a spokesman for Helmand province, said Afghan soldiers “took forced action to protect the country.” He claimed that the Afghan army captured three Pakistani posts and seized arms and ammunition.
There was chaos in many areas
The firing on the border was not limited to just one area. Security sources said that there was continuous shelling in Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral and Barmacha areas. Pakistan used artillery and fighter jets in the retaliatory attack. Panic has spread in civilian areas on both sides. People are migrating to safer places away from the border.
TTP became the root of dispute between the two countries
According to experts, the real root of this conflict is Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Pakistan alleges that Afghanistan is giving shelter to TTP terrorists who attack the Pakistani army. At the same time, Afghan Taliban says that Pakistan is violating their air borders. These allegations and counter-allegations have made the relations between the two countries extremely delicate.
sound of war
This conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan has erupted at a time when the economies of both the countries are already in crisis. The United Nations and international observers are expressing concern about this conflict. If these clashes continue, instability in South Asia may increase further. Experts say that both the countries will have to resolve the border dispute through dialogue, otherwise this fire can engulf the entire area.
