Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Scientists have claimed to have achieved a major breakthrough in the medical world, which will now make it easier to detect Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). For the first time, a blood test has been developed that can detect this mysterious disease. British scientists have claimed that this blood test will help in identifying Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.
Till now there was no sure cure or test for this disease of fatigue, due to which doctors could only guess and treat it. This new test is a great relief for those who have been suffering from fatigue and weakness for a long time.
The test will give accurate reports
This blood test not only identifies the disease, but it is also highly accurate. Scientists have found the accuracy of this test to be more than 96%. Due to this high accuracy rate it will now become much easier to identify the disease. Scientists said that this test detects chronic fatigue syndrome by examining epigenetic changes in the blood. Specifically, in this test, changes in the immune cells of the blood are examined. The changes occurring in these cells indicate whether the person is suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome or not.
Why was this investigation difficult earlier?
Chronic fatigue syndrome is a disease of long-lasting fatigue and weakness. Its biggest challenge was that there was no sure test or definite treatment available. Doctors had to guess just by looking at the symptoms. This disease occurs when a person feels tired even after taking rest.
Due to CFS, patients have to face many problems. They start having problems with their sleep, concentration and even their memory. Since diagnosis was based on symptoms only, it was often difficult to make a correct diagnosis. But now, this new blood test will be of great help to the doctors as it provides a solid scientific basis.
What is chronic fatigue syndrome disease?
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) or ME is a complex disease with many serious symptoms that significantly impact a person’s quality of life and functioning. There are many symptoms through which this disease can be felt….
1. Excessive fatigue: This fatigue is so severe that it does not go away just by taking rest.
2. Post-exertional malaise: Feeling extremely tired after doing even a little mental or physical work.
3. Sleep problem: Not getting proper sleep is also becoming an important cause of this disease.
4. Cognitive problems: Patients start having problems with their memory, concentration and thinking.
5. Physical pain: Apart from this, one may also experience muscle or joint pain, headaches and other infections.
This new development developed by scientists blood testpaving the way for an accurate diagnosis for people suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome, which will make their treatment process easier and provide relief as soon as possible.
