
The 70th Filmfare Awards took place at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad, celebrating excellence in Hindi cinema from 2024. The event marked the return of Shah Rukh Khan as host after 17 years. He was joined by filmmaker Karan Johar and television personality Maniesh Paul, creating a lively hosting trio for the evening.
The ceremony featured performances from Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Kriti Sanon, Ananya Panday, and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the latter two making their Filmfare stage debuts. The night also included a special celebration of talent across acting, music, and filmmaking.
Laapataa Ladies emerged as the evening’s biggest winner. The film won multiple awards, including:

Best Dialogue & Screenplay: Sneha Desai
Best Supporting Actor (Male): Ravi Kishan
Best Supporting Actor (Female): Chhaya Kadam

Lifetime Achievement Award: Shyam Benegal
The awards highlighted the growing importance of content-driven cinema in Bollywood. Films like Laapataa Ladies and Article 370 demonstrated strong storytelling, innovative performances, and impactful music.
