
UPI payment facility will start soon in Japan. For this, NIPL and Japan's NTT DATA signed MoU on Tuesday. This will make it easier for Indian people going to Japan to make payments.
UPI payments in Japan: If you go to Japan in the coming days, there will be no need to worry about payment. You will be able to enjoy UPI payment facility like in India. This facility is going to start soon in Japan. For this, on Tuesday, NIPL (NPCI International Payments Ltd), the global branch of NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) and Japan's NTT DATA have signed the agreement.
According to the agreement, UPI will be accepted at merchant locations managed by NTT DATA. Here Indian travelers will be able to make payments by simply scanning the QR code using their normal UPI apps. NPCI said,
This MoU has laid the foundation of a strategic alliance. This is an important step towards the acceptance of UPI (Unified Payments Interface) in the Japanese market to improve the payment experience of Indian tourists.
