
Ranchi, October 14 (Read News).
A new initiative to save water and provide clean water to villages has started in Ranchi district. On Monday, Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri inaugurated the Bhungru Aqua Line Water Harvesting Project.
Under this project, rain water will be collected, so that the ground water level increases and clean drinking water can be easily available in the villages.
District administration officials, water department employees, village heads and many local people participated in the program. The Deputy Commissioner said that water is life. This project will not only help in saving water but will also strengthen both the economy and environment of the villages. Our administration is fully prepared to deal with the water crisis. He also said that now we will have to fight the “new British” like drug addiction, evil practices and environmental degradation. Bhungru project is a big step in this direction. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the Water and Sanitation Mission, PHED and NGO teams involved in implementing this scheme and said that the progress of the project will be reviewed every three months.
