20 passengers burnt to death in Jaisalmer bus fire.
20 passengers burnt to death in a bus that caught fire in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on Tuesday. 15 passengers are still fighting for their lives in the hospital. Only a few passengers were able to get out at the time of the accident. Now it has been said that the process of DNA sampling will be started in the hospitals of Jodhpur and Jaisalmer to identify the dead body.
DNA testing is considered best in such cases in which it is difficult to identify a human body. This helps in identifying them.In such a situation, the question is what can be found out through DNA sampling, samples of which things are taken and what is the complete method of investigation.
When is DNA sample mandatory?
Forensic experts say that when a person dies, DNA also gradually starts getting damaged. The more time passes, the more difficult it becomes to investigate. The most important thing in its investigation is what kind of DNA tissue it is, how it was removed from the body and in what condition the body of the deceased was.

DNA remains safe for a longer period during winter. At the same time, there is a greater possibility of it getting damaged in days of humidity and hot temperatures. This is the reason why it is mandatory to take samples as soon as possible for DNA testing. It should be stored at least 20 degrees Celsius. At the same time, it is considered better to store soft tissues like skin and muscles in 95 percent ethanol.
Experts say that compared to soft tissues like skin and muscles, the DNA of hard tissue of bones remains preserved in it for a longer period. This is why forensic experts extract DNA from hard tissue and examine it.
How to take samples from burnt dead body? Understand from Jaisalmer case
Forensic experts say, in case of burnt dead bodies, samples are taken from the bones because soft tissues like skin have been burnt. DNA is isolated from bone tissue and tested in the lab. Many types of revelations are made through DNA testing. For example, who was the person who died, whether the relative or relative being said is real or fake, in the case of a child it can be used to identify the father and genetic diseases can also be detected.
Apart from this, evidence is collected in cases like rape, murder, theft. In many countries, government and security agencies store DNA profiles in databases. This helps in preventing recidivism, identifying suspects, and preventing cases of human trafficking.
It is being claimed that the Jaisalmer accident occurred around 3 pm on Tuesday. As soon as the bus moved towards the highway, the driver saw smoke coming out from its rear side. The driver tried to stop the bus but the fire had spread very quickly.
Jaisalmer district administration says that the bodies have been burnt to such an extent that they can be identified only through DNA test. Its process has been started. DNA testing of the dead bodies will be done before handing them over to their families.
