Legendary Pakistani film actor and iconic villain of yesteryears, Mustafa Qureshi, sustained injuries during a morning walk after falling into a pothole on a road near his residence in Clifton, Karachi. The accident, which occurred on October 14, left the 80-year-old actor with a fractured leg and several other minor injuries.
Images of the veteran actor lying in bed with bandaged legs quickly went viral on social media, with fans and fellow artists expressing concern and offering prayers for his speedy recovery.
According to media reports, Mustafa Qureshi was following his daily routine of a post-Fajr walk when he lost his balance due to an unexpected pothole in the road. Speaking to the media, Qureshi said, “Walking after Fajr prayer is part of my routine. That morning, I was walking as usual when I stumbled due to a large pothole and fell hard.”
The fall resulted in injuries to his leg, head, and other parts of his body. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors applied a plaster cast to his leg and provided initial medical treatment. Due to his advanced age, doctors have advised at least six weeks of complete bed rest for proper healing.
Mustafa Qureshi, known for his powerful performances in over 500 films, began his career with Radio Pakistan before moving to television and then the silver screen. Although his native language is Sindhi, he gained immense popularity for his roles in Punjabi films, with his villainous characters becoming iconic in Pakistani cinema.
While Qureshi has been largely away from the screen in recent years, he remains an active presence in the entertainment world, often appearing at events and in interviews.
His fans are hopeful for a full recovery and are eagerly awaiting his return to public life.
