The Iris Affair's lead star Niamh Algar has disclosed she was cautioned against excessive speed whilst shooting an action scene in a Ferrari for Sky's compelling new thriller.
Launching this Thursday (16th October) with a four-episode debut, the Irish actress portrays brilliant hermit Iris Nixon who gets enlisted by affluent financier Cameron Beck (Tom Hollander).
Upon realising her seemingly impossible mission to decode the planet's most sophisticated supercomputer could trigger global catastrophe, Iris vanishes.
The protagonist remains perpetually mobile as Cameron deploys everyone from hired guns to law enforcement in pursuit, culminating in a high-octane Ferrari chase sequence Algar hints occurs during the series.
Speaking at The Iris Affair's London premiere, she revealed her most enjoyable filming day, confessing: "I'm not going to lie, it was probably the Ferrari", reports the Mirror.

"Because I was told to drive it and we'd done some practising with it. They said there's going to be a drone following you so just keep it under 120 (miles per hour).
"I liked the scene, I thought it was fantastic, we drove when we were in the mountains in Italy. I got to my end mark and went, 'I think that really well, what do you think?'
"And [I heard], 'Yeah, you were miles away because you were doing about 150 miles an hour and we need to go again. So really do keep it pretty under'."
Despite receiving a caution from the director, Algar flourished in an action-packed role that saw her thrown into numerous stunts and fight scenes throughout the eight-part thriller.

"Doing stuff like that, my eight-year-old self...", she continued.
"Playing a character like this, she's not carried down with emotional baggage and she doesn't really care too much about a lot of things. And that's a joy to play."
Set across various locations in Italy, Algar also revealed in her exclusive interview with Reach PLC about the drama's hectic production schedule.
"It was full-on, which I loved," she shared. "I'm very hyperactive, a bit like Iris I like to do many things at one time.

"We moved around a lot and Tom had it very handy, he was just in his evil lair on the phone and I had to be ringing him while I'm running down a windy cobbled street.
"But that is what was so great about this, we shot so much of it on location."
Hollander chimed in: "You're a bit younger than me, you should do a bit more of the physical labour of things, because you're stronger!"
"You're right, Tom," Algar quipped. "You had it in your rider, 'I will only do this sitting down'."

"As long as I'm sitting down and doing three days a week," Hollander went on, "and Niamh does six days a week and was always running and getting bruised."
"It's in my rider that I must do some physical activity to compensate for the amount of sugar I eat," Algar joked.
The Iris Affair premieres Thursday, 16th October on Sky and NOW.
