Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy event
South Korean technology company Samsung has announced the date of its upcoming Galaxy event, named ‘Worlds Wild Open’. This event will be held on 21st October. On the occasion, the company will debut its AI-supported XR headset, Project Moohan. The device will be based on the Android XR platform and will include advanced features like eye movements, hand gestures and voice commands.
This XR headset may also have support for Gemini AI assistant. Additionally, it will also be able to run apps optimized for larger virtual displays. This device will not only be the latest from a technological point of view but will also make the user interface more interactive and immersive.
According to Indian time, the Samsung Galaxy event will start at 7:30 am on October 22. It can be seen live on Samsung’s newsroom and YouTube channel. This event is being seen as the new beginning of Samsung’s AI and XR technology.
It is worth noting that Project Moohan is Samsung’s first Extended Reality headset, which is specifically designed for the Android XR platform developed by Google. This headset will be completely AI-native and will support multi-modal input. It was first teased at the 2024 Galaxy event, and now it is ready for its official launch.
The project will support the latest display technology, passthrough mode and multi-modal input. It will have a network of LEDs and infrared cameras to track eye movements, allowing users to interact only by sight. Along with this, support for voice commands and hand gestures will also be available.
