Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a festive “bonus” for 14.82 lakh state employeesamounting to a total expenditure of ₹1,022 crore. Each employee will receive up to ₹6,908calculated based on 30 days’ emoluments.

The move aims to reward state employees ahead of Diwali and support their festive celebrations. The UP CM’s office confirmed that the bonus will cover government staff across departments, enhancing financial well-being during the festival season.

Rajasthan Extends Ad Hoc Bonus to Six Lakh Employees

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced a similar initiative, providing a maximum ad hoc bonus of ₹6,774 to around six lakh state employees. The bonus applies to employees at pay level L-12 or with a grade pay of ₹4,800 or less.

In a post on X, Sharma highlighted that the benefit would also extend to staff working in Panchayat Samitis and District Councilsensuring wider coverage for local government employees.

Gujarat Announces Bonus for Class-4 Employees

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved an ad hoc bonus of up to ₹7,000 for approximately 16,921 Class-4 employees. The bonus covers employees under state cabinet departments, legislative offices, panchayats, universities, grant-in-aid schools and colleges, and state boards and corporations where bonuses are not otherwise provided.

This initiative is aimed at enhancing Diwali celebrations for employees in lower pay grades and acknowledging their contributions to state administration.

The announcements from UP, Rajasthan, and Gujarat underscore a focus on employee welfare and festive supportensuring that government staff receive financial assistance for Diwali. With bonuses ranging from ₹6,774 to ₹7,000the state governments aim to reward employees across departments and local bodies, contributing to a joyful holiday season.
