When is Govts Dwadashi 2025?

According to the Panchang, the Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month will start from 11:12 pm on Friday, October 17, which will continue till 12:18 pm the next day i.e. Saturday, October 18. Since this festival is celebrated in the evening and this situation is being created on 17th October, Friday, hence the festival of Govatsa Dwadashi will be celebrated on the same day.

Govatsa Dwadashi 2025 auspicious time

Rajyoga named Budhaditya will be formed on Friday, October 17. Along with this, 3 other auspicious yogas named Shukla, Brahma and Siddhi will also be there on this day. On Govatsa Dwadashi, cows and calves are worshiped in Pradosh Kaal i.e. in the evening. This auspicious time will be from 05:49 pm to 08:20 pm.

How to worship cows on Govatsa Dwadashi?

On the morning of Friday, October 17, after taking bath etc., take a pledge to fast and worship with water, rice and flowers in your hand. Bathe and groom the cows and calves. Do not take any work from them on this day. In the evening, at an auspicious time, worship the milking cow and its calf by garlanding them. Apply tilak with kumkum on their forehead. Take water in a vessel and mix rice, sesame seeds and flowers in it. After this, pour this water on the feet of the cow and chant this mantra –
Kshirodarnavasambhute surasuranamaskrte.
Sarvdevmaye Matargrihanarghya Namo Namah:॥
While feeding roti and other dishes to the cow, chant the mantra written below:
Surbhi tvam Jaganmatardevi Vishnupade stita.
सर्वदेवमाये ग्रसं मया दत्तमिमं ग्रस॥
Tatah sarvamaye devi sarvadevairladkrite.
