Lidiane Aline Lorenço, a 33-year-old Brazilian influencer, and her daughter Miana Sophya Santos, 15, were found dead in their apartment in Rio de Janeiro’s Barra da Tijuca neighborhood.

According to the Daily MailMiana’s body was discovered in the living room, while Lorenço’s body was found in one of the bedrooms. The authorities were alerted after neighbors noticed the unusual odor emanating from the apartment.
A Civil Police spokesperson confirmed that forensic investigations were conducted at the scene, but no signs of assault were found on the bodies. Still, authorities treat the deaths as suspicious.
“The bodies were autopsied, but it has not yet been possible to determine the cause of death,” the officer said. “Further tests will be performed.”
The mother and daughter had not been seen for five days prior to the discovery, per People magazine. Investigators are working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Lorenço was a popular social media personality, represented by the Rio-based modeling agency 40 Graus Models. Alongside her modeling career, she was also a medical student at Afya Universidade Unigranrio, a private university in Rio.
She had moved to Rio over five years ago, and it is believed that Miana had recently relocated to live with her mother.
The bodies of Lorenço and Miana were laid to rest on Oct. 12 at the Santa Cecília Municipal Cemetery.
